I'm not sure if this is a problem in the vision system or something else. I have a 1206 capacitor that we were picking up with nozzle 1 but wanted to use a larger nozzle as sometimes the part failed to pick up. We switched the part to 1206 and the part and feeder to nozzle 2 and camera 2. The machine picks up the part perfectly and puts it over camera 2 which lights up and creates a nice black and white image of the part. The nozzle then heads straight to the waste cup without even nodding toward the pcb it's supposed to place the part on.
Thinking that it was something in the camera we turned off the vision on the feeder, and the machine again picks up the part perfectly on nozzle two, then briefly hovers over the pcb before heading to the waste cup. Anything in particular I should check to see what's going on? Is there any documentation on how the vision system works and how to troubleshoot it?
I hope you can use the manual! Look at the white staus field left bottom side of our software! It reports a vacuum error so the vacuum detection fails because the switch point not set! If you set to "0" it will switch off vacuum detection too.
Thanks for all your help. It was a vacuum error. I'm having some success getting the vacuum system rationalized. I don't remember seeing status errors about the vacuum system but maybe I was just looking in the wrong place.
