Do Offset X and Offset Y do anything at all in the part description dialog? I know that when I enter a value and save the file, the next time I edit the part, the fields always read zero. There was report of a bug report that the offsets were cumulative and stayed in the part, although the field always read zero when editing the part.
Am wondering if this bug has been fixed? And if Offset X and Offset Y do anything at all currently?
For what it's worth, those fields seem very useful to me - say a part is just a bit off, it could be a fast way to fix it. But the way they are described in the bug report - they seem worse than nothing since values are hidden from user and not reported.
According to that post the offsets are cumulative when you enter them. However the field always reads zero when re-visiting the part setup dialog. So to summarize, the offset value in the field is added to the the part's coordinate, however the offset does not show up in the field. I did discover that the offset seems to be reset to zero by capturing the camera coordinates.
It's hard to believe this is a feature and not a bug. The part offset is a really useful idea though and this post might help people use it while waiting for this to be fixed in the software.
