My nozzles are never saved. If I put one on a head, after restarting the software it does not show it loaded. Then I cannot onload it as the software says it is unloaded already.
Very annoying, how can I set this up so it saves the nozzles status?

The machine changes the nozzles and "knows" which nozzle is currently loaded. Every other machine I know saves that status, at powerup it reads it back to be sure it knows which nozzle is loaded.
This way no one needs to pull nozzles from the holder, a thing I would never like to do as they are quite solid into the holder and I have to pull firmly to get them out.
The way it is now almost guarantees a crash if you forgot to pull the nozzles from the machine.
Also, constantly touching nozzles does not help keeping them clean.

What is so difficult to just save the nozzle status after every change? Should be a few lines of code to do that. 4 heads, 6 nozzles, fill an array and save it.
That would make things a lot safer.

That is not what I find ideal, but I guess this will stay as it is. At least an optional checkbox "safe nozzle status" would be nice to have for those who would like to live without the risk of crashing the heads.

Very nice: Today I tested a few things, and put my nozzle 2 to head 1, via software.
Software crashed, nozzle was still in, so after restart I wanted to put it back, but dos not work. So I pulled it manually.

Then the software should pull the nozzle #2, which it did.
After testing I wanted the software to put it back, as the software does not save the status of the nozzles.
It went to the changer, but did not put the nozzle in the holder. Instead it stopped, Z down, waited for a few seconds and then moved to the zero point of the machine.

Result: Nozzle #2 is now broken.

Now I do not have a nozzle for my 0603 any more, no more testing, my deadline is gone. great.
The first nozzle was broken as I traveled from west to east feeder, no collision check in the software here.
This is surely not reliable working.

Now I can look where I can get new nozzles fast. Any ideas?

Please do not misunderstand me:
I know that already, the problem is: When the software crashes, you are blocked. A Nozzle is then loaded, you have to reset the software.
The software then starts up and assumes nothing is loaded. If you then dare to start a job, it goes to the changer, and bang, crash...

Also, I did try as you mention, and wanted to store my nozzle back after work. It moved to the changer, drove Z down, and then nothing happened for a few seconds. After the pause it started a homing cycle, with Z still down, kicking my nozzle off. Seems aas it crashed in the middle of the action.

I just do not understand what is so difficult to store that status, and reload it on startup. Should be a few lines of code and would prevent a few crashes. But I understand that feature requests are not very welcome here. Although we pay several thousand $ for the machine, most requests are not even considered. Your software is not bad, but could be much better and safer with a few tweaks. Too bad the code is closed.

I had the crash after I selected "Put Nozzle". It moved to the changer, moved Z down and stopped. After a few seconds it started a homing cycle.
I now abandoned the changer and work with 2 fixed nozzles in head 1 and 2. Sad, but safer for me.

I understand that it is not possible to save data on a crash, I am a software developer too. But you could save the status after every successful put nozzle / pick nozzle operation, as well as you could save other things like pcb data, feeder data etc. on every close of the edit dialogs. That would save a lot of clicking on the save-button. That way your software would always know which nozzle is on which head, and we should not have top bother if things are saved or not.

But I understood you do not want to change that, then I must live without the nozzle-changer. You should mention that in the product description, as that would have prevented me from buying the machine.

Of course I did, and the cable is the one which is fixed on the machine. The computer is right under the machine.

That was a one-time error, and I will not try to get that again as it damages the machine when it happens.
