Zitat 1. Picking a SSOP28 package from vibration feeder with CN220 in head 1 from nozzle position 5 failed to align every time. 2. I moved the CN220 to nozzle position 4 (by hand -- I just swapped nozzles 4 and 5) and I changed the feed settings for the SSOP28 to pick with nozzle 4. Alignment works every time. 3. Under the "Nozzle List" > "Nozzle Edit", I changed vacuum for nozzle 5 from 75 to 25. I manually moved the CN220 back to nozzle position 5 and repeated step 1. Alignment works every time.
The vacuum settings need to be setup depending on placement mode:
- DUAL HEAD mode >> the vacuum setup need to be done in feeder settings - NOZZLE CHANGER mode >> the vacuum settings in nozzle changer settings are valid (each nozzle changer position has it's own value!)
You can check the result of the vaccum test in the white status box on the left side below the vision windows. (Software reports current value and message if failed!)
The vacuum test starts when part arrives on the bottom camera or before placement if no vision used.
Zitat I cannot independently control the pressure used with each nozzle. Is this correct?
It is not necessary to control the vacuum pressure for each head but you receive different switch points for different nozzles because of different hole diameter inside the nozzle. This wil cause a different flow resistance and as result different vacuum switch points depending on nozzle type you use.
Zitat I thought that since I have parts with different weights, I should be able to control how much vacuum is used on each part, but now I don't see a way to do that. Can someone help me with this?
That's not necessary. On high part weight you use bigger nozzles to increase the connected surface between part and nozzle. Second important thing is to increase the pick up delay to stabilize vacuum before picking part up. Usefull range is ( 50 to 300ms ) for CN400 I use > 150ms! For CN020 / CN030 nozzle a longer pick up delay is usefull to because of high flow resistance.
Hi Michael, Using what you've told me, I have greatly improved the placement of my parts! I am very pleased. I will post pictures or video soon. Thank you for your support!
