Is there any way to obtain the source code of the software, maybe under a non-disclosure agreement, or even for money?
I would really like to invest a few hours in it to remove the biggest usability flaws, mainly in usability like correct TAB-orders in all dialogs, rescalable dialogs, hint text for all UI elements, a few new buttons to make things much easier to work with and import/export of the part data from one feeder to the part database. Also a correction of the selection method of the main part list would be great, as you can hardly see which part is selected, it seems to mark rows as selected randomly. I think a bit work could make this software really good.
I would really like to do that, for free, and send you the changes back so all users can use it. I know this is closed source, but maybe we can find an agreement, I do not seek profits or anything, just want to improve the software so I can work with it better. Maybe there is a way to do that.
Dear Michael. And the list of changes wouldn't be? So far I have registered 2 changes: 1) allowed window resize 'Package Database' Dialog Box 2) function buttons increment/decrement in the dialog Panelize PCB
I checked the updates and have found a few things:
- single push feeder feed button in feeder dialog added PERFECT! Great help for me!
- Tab orders and inc/dec buttons is also good, much better now to navigate with keyboard.
- "New camera tracking function enabled in basic settings, move camera to pickup position when feeder settings edited, or to part location in pnp list if part location edited." Correction: I found it in the Basic Settings. Not bad, but I would prefer having a button in the feeder dialog where I could send the camera to the feeder if I want it. With this setting enabled it moves the head with every edit of a feeder, not necessary I think.
What I found: ===============
- Strange strings in english.ini like "PartList.c_PCBName=Pcb Name£º" These show also in the dialogs. What is the "£º" for?
- Click on "Reset Origin" still does no optical homing, only mechanical. It should do both.
- Hint texts of the large buttons are in chinese
- Hint texts of all other buttons still missing, especialy the jog buttons would be nice to have a hint text there. Also the many buttons in the feeder and pnp parts dialogs
- In the Feeder properties Dialog there is a button "NEXT" with no function
- All sorting by clicking on the table column headers is still one-way. Common windows-behaviour is one click on the table column sort it decending, if you click again it sorts ascending. That would be nice as we then would be able to sort tables much better.
Still missing: ============== - A good visible display of the part currently placed, in large letters in the Top-Bar would be great C1 100n N5 for example
- A hotkey and menu item for driving to the "park position". There is no way to move to park position now.
- Reliable park position driving after job finished. I have still the problem that it does it only sporadically.
- In the feeder dialog please put a button for "Move TOP CAM to this feeder" that would be of great help when you want to adjust the position anew.
- "Export to part database" for a feeder. That would allow us to optimize a part and then set the parameters to a database part so we can use the optimized parameters for other feeders. If you overwrite an existing database part all feeders based on that database part should be updated too, after confirmation of the user. That way we could really easy adjust a part and then update all feeders with the same package. Now we have to go to the database and open every single feeder with that database part to update it.
Dear Michael. Beta version from 20.12.2019 Missing list of changes to /software/blog. The biggest and WORST visible change: feeders can ONLY be edited when the machine is on and connected. Otherwise it will get an error message: "Machine is active" operation not allowed! That's bad, very bad. Regards JURP

Dear Jurp,
please simply turn off the camera tracking function you find in basic settings and save.
